What are Auto Approved Shifts?

Shifts traditionally need to be assigned to a specific Employee with any further changes needing to be made or approved by the manager. Auto Approved Shifts are shifts where changes have been made directly by employees and approved automatically. Typically the auto approved change relates to which employee is assigned a shift.

Auto Approved Shifts are only viable using smart employee scheduling software that is capable of reducing the burdens of scheduling on managers by considering the preferences of the employee along with the demand for staffing. Good employee scheduling software should compare the availability of employees, their general workload, the skills or certifications required for a shift and any applicable legislation or employee contract limitations. If all requirements set by the system are met than employees maybe able to perform such access as shift swapping (shift trading) and assigning themselves to open shifts.
